23 OF OUR ALL-TIME
FAVORITE HOLLYWOOD KITCHENS

We all have that one movie that inspired a future renovation (realistically or not) that would make our homes as dreamy as the films we adore. Although we don’t all have million dollar budgets, or a Hollywood set director to guide us, there’s plenty of inspo to be gained from our favorite glamorous films. Kitchens are central to our day-to-day lives, and in movies they get a lot of screen time (rightfully so).

Call Me By Your Name

The Lombardian, 17th-century villa in Call Me By Your Name was an idyllic and picturesque home; a suitable backdrop to the romantically dreamy love story. The kitchen, a white and tranquil social space that overlooked the iconic outdoor garden, balanced the home’s vintage charm with modern accents. The simple white walls and tiles, copper pots and pans, and vintage details reflect the understated style and relaxed energy of the Italian countryside.

THE HOLIDAY (1)

Cameron Diaz’s kitchen in The Holiday balanced a modern framework with East Coast beachy details. The deep blue cabinets and cool-toned countertops were complemented by the light wooden island and scattered warm accents.

THE HOLIDAY (2)

Another gorgeous kitchen in The Holiday was that of Kate Winslet. This cottage-style space is quirky and snug, with baby blue cabinets and vintage china on display. Coolest and coziest of all, the space was complete with a beautiful fireplace.

JULIE & JULIA

If there's one movie where the kitchen truly matters, it's Julie & Julia. The iconic kitchen, recreated from images of Julia Child's real Cambridge home, was filled with charming quirks and attention to function. The white tiled backsplash and subtle green accents create the perfect backdrop to a kitchen stocked with an impressive array of culinary tools and devices.

THE HELP

Nothing screams “perfectly retro” like the kitchen from The Help. The light blue checkered floors, mint green table, and bright red chairs lend a vintage energy to the space that is balanced with crisp white walls and cabinets.

PRACTICAL MAGIC

Set in a Victorian New England home, the kitchen of Practical Magic was as witchy as it is noteworthy. The deep wooden floors and accents, vaulted ceilings, bold tiles, and hearth-inspired stove helped create a mysterious and magical vibe on this set.

MODERN FAMILY

It's hard to decide which of the Modern Family homes is most beautiful, though when it comes to the kitchens, there's a clear winner. Gloria and Jay's kitchen is chic and ultra-modern, with bold walls, stainless steel appliances, sleek white countertops, and of course–the zebra chairs.

SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE

In the East Coast beach house from Something's Gotta Give, the glossy tile backsplash, massive island countertop, state of the art appliances, and room for entertaining has us planning our next kitchen redo. The bright and modern space is both charming and inviting, setting the stage for the exciting and dramatic film.

DOWNTON ABBEY

The kitchen in Downton Abbey was where the staff spent most of their time, and was a central part of the movie's set. Full of vintage kettles, pots and pans, the rustic, warmly-lit space was a testament to the style of the early 1900s.

IT'S COMPLICATED

The kitchen it It’s Complicated is spacious, modern, and chic. The large pendant lights pair with the steel appliances, while the old wooden dining table lends a homey feel. The room is flooded with natural light, which compliments the predominantly white space.

THIS IS 40

The luxurious Brentwood home that became the set for both This is 40 and Knocked Up was given praise for its gorgeous open-concept kitchen, designed by set decorator James Radin. The crisp white space was sprinkled with warm accents, like a deep wood floor and an array of colorful fruit on display.

MR. & MRS. SMITH

Minus the double oven stashed with weaponry, the kitchen in Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a design lover’s dream. The tiled walls and countertops create a glamorous luster, while the stainless steel appliances lend a sexy vibe.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

The picture perfect homes in ABC's drama series Desperate Housewives are undeniably inspirational. But we find the kitchens to take the cake. The cool olive green contrasts the warm wood and copper pots and pans to create a comfortable yet luxurious space.

MARLON

The kitchen in NBC's Marlon features modern wooden cabinetry, sleek steel appliances, and a stunning marble island.

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT

The kitchen in The Kids Are All Right finds unity in modern simplicity with cottage style details. An industrial center island holds cookbooks and an assortment of dish ware which lends a more homey feel.

FRIENDS

The small kitchen in Monica's apartment in Friends didn't stop set directors form having fun. The blue cabinets and shelves contrast with the beautiful exposed brick wall, creating a function and eclectic space.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

Although Holly Golighty's Upper East Side apartment may not be fully furnished, her kitchen has all of the charm we could ask for. The red framed chairs are situated at a small round table covered in a purple tablecloth, which effortlessly matches her floral bouquet and stained class light. The walls are covered in a beautiful vintage wallpaper which though understated, is an iconic accent.

THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR

As the central social space in the show, the kitchen in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air holds its weight. The massive, light-filled kitchen is bright and spacious, with a beautiful blend of neutrals from the white walls to the light cabinetry and island.

WILL & GRACE

The kitchen in this iconic sitcom was complete with light wooden cabinetry, a modern stone countertop, and a beautiful deep wood partition to warm up the space.

We can all agree that the entire home in this eerie thriller was perfect…almost too perfect. Remind you of anything? The kitchen in Gone Girl exuded the “modern yet classic” design style, with a massive island, high ceilings, and beautiful natural light.

UGLY BETTY

The kitchen in Ugly Betty parallels the quirk and vibrance of her character. The sunny wallpaper, minty fridge, bold red rug, and fearless use of pattern is why we love this kitchen so much.
